How does a cavern differ from a cave

Answer:

A cave is characterized as any cavity in the ground which has a portion not receiving direct sunlight. A cavern is only one cave category that is naturally built in porous rock and develops speleologists (the generic word for cave formations such as stalagmites and stalactites).
