When f(x) = -2x + 4 and g(x)=3x + 7, find (f + g)(-7).

Answer:

f(x) = -2x + 4

g(x) = 3x + 7

First find (f+g)(x)

(f+g)(x) = -2x + 3x + 4 + 7

= x + 11

(f+g)(-7) = -7 + 11

= 4
