Isolate x for 4x +y=9: x=9-y/4

Substitute x = 9-y/4

[5 x 9-y/4+2y =9]

Isolate y for (45+3y/4)=9:

y=-3

For x= 9-y/4

Substitute y = -3

x= 9-(-3)/4

9-(-3)/4=3

X=3
