Answer: The cost to buy all the paint he needs =
\pounds \ 176.70\ .

Explanation:

Formula: Area of trapezium =
(1)/(2)(a+b)h, where a and b are the parallel sides and h is the height.

From the given figure of trapezium, we have

a = 10 m

b = 16 m

h = 7.6 m

Then, area of trapezium floor =
(1)/(2)(10+16)(7.6)=(1)/(2)(26)(7.6)=98.8\ m^2

Also, 1 litre paint is required to paint and area of
1.9\ m^2.

Then, the amount of paint required to paint
98.8\ m^2 area =
(98.8\ m^2)/(1.9\ m^2)

= 52 litres

Since cost if 5 litres of paint =
\pounds\ 16.99

then cost of 1 liter paint =
\pounds (16.99)/( 5)=\pounds 3.398

Then, cost of 52 litres of paint =
52*3.398=\pounds \ 176.696\approx\pounds\ 176.70

Hence, the cost to buy all the paint he needs =
\pounds \ 176.70\ .
