Answer:

Brian gets 28 sweets

Explanation:

Given A= Alice and B= Brian total amount of is 63

A : B = 5 : 4

4 + 5 = 9 portions in total which add up to 63

one such portion must contain 63 / 9 sweets.

Since 63 / 9 = 7 we can now give the answer because of the ratios are known.

Alice has 5 * 7 = 35

Brian has 4 * 7 = 28

The answer is Brian gets 28 sweets.
