Using pythagoras theorem

hypotenus^2=Adjacent^2+Opposite^2

H^2=3^2 + 4^2

H^2=9+16

H^2=25

H=square root of 25

H=5

We have to find the length of ladder, c = ?

So we'll use Pythagoras theorem

c² = a²+b²

c² = 3²+4²

c² = 9+16

Taking square root on both sides, we'll get

c = 5 feet
