Given the formula, find the first five terms and the 10th term of each

sequence.
a n = 8 – 5n
My attempt:
a1 = 8(5)5 =a1 =5
a2=8(5)6-5=10
a3=8(5)7-5=15
a4=8(5)8-5=20
a5=8(5)9-5=25
a10=8(5)10-5=a1050?

  • a_n=8-5n

#1

  • a_1=8-5(1)=8-5=3

#2

  • a_2=8-5(2)=8-10=-2

#3

  • a_3=8-5(3)=8-15=-7

#4

  • a_4=8-5(4)=8-20=-12

#5

  • a_5=8-5(5)=8-25=-17

#10

  • a_10=8-5(10)=8-50=-42

\qquad\qquad\huge\underline{{\sf Answer}}

Let's calculate the Given terms ~

\textbf{1st Term :}

\qquad \sf  \dashrightarrow \:a_1 = 8 - 5(1)

\qquad \sf  \dashrightarrow \:a_1 = 8 - 5

\qquad \sf  \dashrightarrow \:a_1 = 3

\textbf{2nd Term :}

\qquad \sf  \dashrightarrow \:a_2 = 8 - 5(2)

\qquad \sf  \dashrightarrow \:a_2 = 8 - 10

\qquad \sf  \dashrightarrow \:a_2 = - 2

\textbf{3rd Term :}

\qquad \sf  \dashrightarrow \:a_3 = 8 - 5(3)

\qquad \sf  \dashrightarrow \:a_3 = 8 - 15

\qquad \sf  \dashrightarrow \:a_3 = - 7

\textbf{4th Term : }

\qquad \sf  \dashrightarrow \:a_4 = 8 - 5(4)

\qquad \sf  \dashrightarrow \:a_4 = 8 -20

\qquad \sf  \dashrightarrow \:a_4 = - 12

\textbf{5th Term :}

\qquad \sf  \dashrightarrow \:a_5 = 8 - 5(5)

\qquad \sf  \dashrightarrow \:a_5 = 8 - 25

\qquad \sf  \dashrightarrow \:a_5 = -17

\textbf{10th Term :}

\qquad \sf  \dashrightarrow \:a_(10) = 8 - 5(10)

\qquad \sf  \dashrightarrow \:a_(10) = 8 - 50

\qquad \sf  \dashrightarrow \:a_(10) = - 42
