Explanation:

Given 2 similar solids with sides in the ratio a : b , then

ratio of volumes = a³ : b³

Here the ratio of heights of A : B = 10 : 15 = 2 : 3 , thus

ratio of volumes A : B = 2³ : 3³ = 8 : 27

let x represent the volume of B then using proportion


(8)/(400) =
(27)/(x) ( cross- multiply )

8x = 10800 ( divide both sides by 8 )

x = 1350

The volume of solid B = 1350 cm³
