Answer:

number less than 3=1 and 2

so 2/6 = 1/3 in lowest terms

then rolling a 6 =

there is only one 6 so it will be 1/6

The probability of rolling a number less than 3 and then rolling a 6 is 1/18

What is the probability of rolling a number less than 3 and then rolling a 6?

From the question, we have the following parameters that can be used in our computation:

Rolling a six sided die

Where, we have the sample space to be

S = {1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6}

The probability of rolling a number less than 3 is

P = 2/6

The probability of rolling a 6 is

P = 1/6

So, the required probability is

P = 2/6 * 1/6

Evaluate

P = 1/18

Hence, the probability is 1/18
