Ok so let's do this together...it can't be A nor B because it DOES NOT =81...... nor =9!!! it can't be D either! because where do we get the 81 from?????? and etc..............and now, B and A it could be both of the answers you are thinking and i am thinking too! but B and A has the same writing and problem but not the same answer....so let's see this together....B. is (x-4)2 = (y+1)2 = 81 and A. is (x-4)2 = (y+1)2 = 9...so...when we do that looks like it is not B. either!! Nor A! Nor D....it is *dun dun dun dunnnnnnn* C!!!!! The answer is C. (x-4)2 + (y +1)2 = 162!!

Explanation:

Equation of Circle : (x – h)^2 + (y – k)^2 = r^2

(h, k) is the center of the circle, r is the radius

The center is (-4, 1), plug it in to get:

(x+4)^2 + (y-1)^2 = r^2

To find the radius we can use the distance formula to find the distance between C and P:

Distance Formula: d =
\sqrt{(x_(2) - x_(1))^(2) + (y_(2) - y_(1))^(2)}

Plug in C: (-4, 1) and P:(5, -8) to get
√(162)

So, the equation is:

(x+4)^2 + (y-1)^2 =
√(162) ^(2)

(x+4)^2 + (y-1)^2 = 162
