Answer:

4 ft²

Explanation:

A = 1/2bh Use this equation to find the area of the triangle

A = 1/2(4)(4) Multiply

A = 1/2(16) Multiply

A = 8 Area of entire triangle

A = 1/2(2)(4) Multiply

A = 1/2(8) Multiply

A = 4 Area of triangle not shaded

Take the area of the whole triangle minus the area of the unshaded part

8 - 4 = 4 ft²

Area of a triangle is 1/2 x base x height.

The base of the shaded triangle is 2 ft. the height is 4 ft.

Area = 1/2 x 2 x 4 = 4 square feet.
