X²+1-4x⁴-x²+³

X²+1-3x²+x⁴-x²

1-3x²+x⁴

X⁴-3x³+1

Explanation:

Remove the parenthesis from the 2 expressions, that is

x² + 1 - 4x³ + 3
x^(4) - x² - 2
x^(4) + x³ + 4

Collect like terms, largest exponents to smallest, that is

(3
x^(4) - 2
x^(4)) + (- 4x³ + x³) + (x² - x²) + 1 + 4

=
x^(4) - 3x³ + 5 ← in standard form
