Answer:

P = 48 in. A = 144 in.^2

Explanation:

All 4 of a squares sides are equal length.

To find the perimeter, you add up all the sides.

Because you know one side is 12 in, just add 12 three more times.

P = Perimeter

P = 12 + 12 + 12 + 12 = 48 in.

To find the area, you need to multiply base and the height.

You already know the base and the height are the same, 12.

A = bh

A = 12 × 12 = 144 in.^2

(Keep in mind that when doing area, the unit is squared. Perimeter is not.)

12+12+12+12= the perimeter as it is an square.

12x12= the area of the square as LxB is the area
