laid off many bank tellers because of automation. She’s thinking about looking for the same teller jobs


at other banks, but you don’t think that’s a good idea. What kind of advice would you give your

I would advice her to not seek for same bank job (Teller job) but rather to acquire an IT based skill. This is because, for her to loss the job due to automation, means, with time,other banks would adopt same approach by automating the whole teller job in various branches.

But, with IT skills, she could be employed by same bank inorder to help towards the maintainance of the automated machines. This would through checking for the smooth running of the softwares in the machines as well as ensuring that there is no breakdown or downtime of the automated teller machine.
