Answer:

Use the formula for surface area of a cone:

SA = π
r^(2) · πrs

'π' stands for the pi(22/7 or 3.14) and 'r' stands for the radius which is being squared. ← This will represent the area of the base of this cone.

'π' stands for the pi(22/7 or 3.14), 'r' stands for the radius, and 's' will stand for the slant height of this cone. ← This will represent the area of the lateral surface of this cone.

What we know;

  • Slant height = 8 cm
  • Radius = 3 cm

Correct me if i'm wrong with these measurements.

Now plug in what you know into the formula:-

SA = π
r^(2) · πrs

SA = 3.14(3^2) · 3.14(3) · 8

Quick note: The ' ^ ' symbol stands for a power symbol, meaning that any base is raised to the power of any exponent.

Solve!

SA = 3.14(9) · 3.14(3) · 8

SA = 28.26 · 9.42 · 8

SA = (28.26 · 9.42) · 8

SA = 266.2092 · 8

SA = 2,129.6736, and rounded to the nearest whole is 2,130.

The surface area of this cone is, 2,130 square centimetres.
