There are 30 fruits, all apples and peaches, in a basket. Take out any three of them and at least one will be an apple. How many peaches might there be in the basket?

There are 30 fruits in a basket, all apples and peaches.

If 3 fruits are taken out of the basket, it is said that at least one of the 3 fruits would be an apple.

For this to be possible, it means, picking 3 fruits, at random from the basket guarantees at least 1 of them being an apple.

This means that the maximum number of peaches obtainable from the basket is 2, to guarantee a sure case of the last fruit of 3 selected fruits being an Apple. There has to be a minimum of 28 apples in the basket for this statement to be absolutely non-contestable.
