After reflecting on the brainstorming questions above, write a letter to your 10-year-old self making a recommendation about the best age to sign up for social media. In your letter, include specific reasons and examples to support your recommendation.

Answer:

Potential dangers arise with a child on social media

Step-by-step explanation:

Dear 10 year old self,

I know it is tempting to put up all your pictures on the internet and the feeling of getting so many likes is great. Of course you want all your friends to see you and comment on how great all the pictures are but there are some things I hope I can tell you now that may make you wait a little while longer before you decide to do that.

You see, when you are on the internet not just your friends can see you but anyone that has access to the internet can see you too! Some people are not too kind to children and may want to hurt you or say mean things to you and if they can find you on social media, it's easy for them to do that without your mom and dad knowing.

If your mom and dad doesn't know they won't be able to protect you if things get out of hand. Some of these guys also pretend to be kids so that they can try to be your friend. They are not really friends.

I think until you can understand the way the internet works and the very best way to keep yourself safe, it's best you don't make a profile while you learn more about it.

Your Older self
