The ballfield has a concession stand where they sell snow cones for $0.50 each. The ingredients to make the snow cones costs $9 each day. They usually sell 35 snow cones per day. On Friday, it rained, and they only sold 20 snow cones. How much profit did the concession stand make after expenses that day?

Answer:

$4,86

Explanation:

Profit without expenses - $0,50×20 snow cones

=$10

Let's calculate the percentage the seller takes for the ingredients daily

The seller per day makes-$0,50×35 snow cones=$17,5

This means the percent he takes for the ingredients from his/her $17,5 daily is- $9÷$17,5 ×100=51,4%.

NB-the 51,4% is the percentage of money he/she takes from the $17,5 everyday

Therefore if on the raining day he made $10

Then $10×51,4÷100=$5,14

NB-the $5,14 is the money he will take for the ingredients on the raining day

Therefore $10-$5,14=$4,86

Therefore the total profit he made with expenses is $4,86
