7:9=7+9=16
Alf is 7 which means 7/16*£48=6.125

So basically you add up the ratio and get 16 because 7+9.
Now you do 48 divided by 16 which is 3 to get one price. Since Alf is divided by 7 you multiply 3 with 7. So the answer would be £21
