Cylinder volume formula:

V=πr^2h

Substitute given values into the formula

Note: use 3.14 for pi

Diameter is twice the radius, so if diameter is 8 then radius is 4

371.776 = (3.14)(4^2)h

Use h for height because we don't know the height

Okay, so let's try to get the h by itself on the left side of the equation

So begin by getting rid of 3.14 by dividing it by both sides

371.776/3.14 = 118.4

3.14/3.14 = 1 (don't put 1, just remove the 3.14 from the right side)

So now we have:

118.4 = 4^2(h)

Now we can get rid of 4^2

Start by actually squaring it and then divide it from both sides

118.4 = 16(h) (4^2 = 16)

118.4/16 = 7.4

16/16 = 1 (dont put 1, just drop it)

So now we have

7.4 = h

Now we have h by itself! So h = 7.4

let's test it by putting it in the cylinder volume formula

V = πr^2h

371.776 = (3.14)(4^2)(7.4)

371.776 = (3.14)(16)(7.4)

371.776 = 50.24(7.4)

371.776 = 371.776

7.4 is your answer, if you have any questions, feel free to ask
