Step-by-step explanation:
Circle adjectives about the meadow, anything that describes the senses: touch, color, smell, etc.
Next to the story, or... I'm assuming you guys are using a separate sheet of paper, summarize the plot for those lines.
Underline symbolism or descriptions that set that sort of tone. For example mentions of a storm, something falling apart, strange noises, general darkness, etc. Or maybe ominous things like crows, or similar supersticions.
