A shoe store is selling a pair of shoes fro $60 that has been discounted by 25%. What was the original selling price? (7th grade, my teacher won't help)

Answer:

the original price is $80

Explanation:

25% off would be 1/4 of the original price, leaving the rest of the 75% as the discounted price. So if $60 is 1/3 of the price then divide 60 by 3 which equals $20. $20 would be the 25% discount taken off and the original price would be $80.
