The common denominator of 3 and 6 will be the

least common multiple of 3 and 6 which is 6.

To get a 6 in the denominator of 2/3, we multiply the numerator

and the denominator by 2 which gives us 4/6.

Notice that 1/6 already has a 6 in the denominator.

So we have 4/6 + 1/6.

Now we're adding like fractions so we simply add the numerators,

4 + 1 is 5, and keep the same denominator which is 6.
