In this question, we are asked to find the arc length of the semicircle.

For a full circle, the formula for the circumference is πD or more generally 2 π r

The first will suit this calculation better as we have the value for the diameter already which is 9.

Now, the value of the circumference will be half that of a full circle since we are dealing with a semicircle.

Thus, our formula become πD/2 or simply πr

Now, substituting the value of our diameter, we will have

Circumference = π * 9/2 = π * 4.5 = 4.5 π
