so what you’re gonna do is find the area of all the sides then add them together which will equal the surface area.

there are 3 sides that are rectangles so find the area of one of them and you can just multiply that by 3.

the area formula for rectangles is base x height. one rectangle is 5 yd x 11 yd = 55 sq. yd. since there are 3 rectangles then just do 55 x 3 = 165.

the area formula for triangles is 1/2 base x height. there are two triangles in the prism so multiply the area of one of them by 2. one triangle is 1/2 x 6 yd x 4 yd = 12 sq. yd. now multiply that by two since there are two triangles. 12 x 2 = 24 sq. yd.

finally, add all the areas together. 165 sq. yd. + 24 sq. yd. = 189 sq. yd.

your final answer is 189 square yards!

Find the area of the triangle, then the area of the rectangular sides:

Area = 1/2 x 6 x 4 = 12 square yds.

There are two triangles ( front and back) 12 + 12 = 24

One side = 11 x 5 = 55 sq yds.

There are two sides: 55 +55 = 110 sq. yds.

The bottom is 6 x 11 = 66 sq. yds.

Total surface area = 66 + 110 + 24 = 200 sq yds.
