Bob's bakery makes 12 cakes and 36 muffins each hour.

Part A: Create a table to show how many cakes and muffins in all the bakery has made after each hour. Use the rules "add 12" and "add 36"

Part B: Micheal says, "The total number of muffins made is ALWAYS 24 mroe than the total number of cakes made." Do you agree? Explain your reasoning.

Part C: Micheal wants to grap his information. What ordered pairs represents the total number of each item made after 6 hours?

Answer:

A)

time (in hours) cakes muffins

1 12 36

2 12+12 = 24 36+36 = 72

3 24+12 = 36 72+36 = 108

4 36+12 = 48 108+36 = 144

B) Each hour the number of muffins made is 24 more than the number of cakes made. But the total depends on time, as can be seen in the table, for example after 4 hours there are 144 - 48 = 96 more muffins than cakes

C) After 6 hours, 6*12 = 72 cakes are made, and 6*36 = 216 muffins are made. then, the pair (cakes, muffins) is (72, 216)
