Answer:

y=2.4

Explanation:

X + 2y =5

X - 3y = 7

(cancel out the x's)

Because the signs ( +and-) are different, you add: 2y + 3y = 5y

5+7=12

So 5y=12

Then divide both sides by 5 to get what y is

So y = 2.4
