The U.S revealed that the rationale behind the invasion of Iraq was with an intention to eliminate the regime that was into the development and usage of weapons used for mass destruction, committed heinous human rights abuses , shielded and approved terrorists and that defied the important and just demands of the United Nations and the world at large.

The US wanted to invade Iraq by forming an excuse which was, that the Iraqi government or regime has developed weapons of mass destruction illegally and wanted to attack the US bases or the country itself.

US also stated that the Iraqi regime was supporting the terrorists and armed fighters which was inline with the human right violations and abuses. The US and the UK jointly exercised military powers over Iraq through these excuses and wiped out Iraq creating a situation of Civil war between the Sunni Muslims and the Shia Muslims of the country, after arresting Saddam Hussain.
