The numbers 1 through 10 are put in one bag. The numbers 5 through 14 are put in another bag. When you pick one number from each bag, what is the probability you get the same number?

Explanation:

Both bags have the numbers 5, 6, 7, 8, 9 and 10. Thus, there are 6 similar number in both bags.

The probability of picking the number 5 in both bags is:

P(5)= 1/10 * 1/10= 1/ 100

It is the same probability of picking the number 6 or 7 or 8 or 9 or 10 in both bags.

P ( 6)= 1/100

P ( 7 ) = 1 /100

P (8)= 1 /100

P ( 9 ) = 1 /100

P ( 10 ) = 1 /100
