The executive branch is the one that enforces the laws. For instance, police are a part of the executive branch, and they help enforce the laws that are given to us by the legislative branch.

The executive branch also includes the cabinet which is made up of the heads of the 15 major departments of government. The head of the cabinets help inform the president about transportation, foreign affairs, transportation etc. So, without the executive branch, the government would not be as informed to the issues going on in the country and outside the country.
