Hi, Since the triangle is a right triangle we have to apply the Pythagorean theorem to find the lenght of Orange Dr street.

c2 = a2+b2

Where c is the hypotenuse (the longest side) and a and b are the other sides of the triangle.

Replacing with the values given

85^2 = 77^2 + b^2

7225 = 5929 +b^2

7225-5929 = b^2

1296 = b^2

√1296 = b

36 = b ( orange Dr length)

Adding the lengths of orange and Peach ave .

36+77 = 113 yards

Subtracting the length of cherry st.(85)

113 -85 = 28 yards

His trip would have been 28 yards further
