Variability ? I'm confused

Variability in statistics… Let's see...dispersion is the degree to which a percentage is stretched or even squeezed. Some examples of measures of statistical “dispersion” ( or distribution) are the variance, standard deviation, and interquartile span. Like when the variance of data in a set is big; the data is gretaoy dispersed. (Variance is the measure of “variability” and for shorter terms of what I said, it is basically computed by taking the average of squared deviations from the thing.) hope I helped ask me for any questions I’m a 5th grader who likes science. Sorry I took to long to respond I had to look back at my notes for a better explanation.
