It yields a straight line almost

  • (1,1)
  • (3,2)

Slope:-

  • m=2-1/3-1
  • m=1/2

But it's not accurate and somehow wrong as it's exponential and our slope must be in log form

But thing we get that slope is positive so association is positive

  • Option B

Answer:

b) Since the y-values increase as the x-values increase, the scatter plot shows a positive association.

Explanation:

In a scatter plot:

  • The explanatory (independent) variable is along the x-axis
  • The response (dependent) variable is along the y-axis

Correlation measures how closely two variables are linked.

  • Positive correlation: response variable increases as the explanatory variable increases
  • Negative correlation: response variable decreases as the explanatory variable increases

The given scatter plot shows the y-variable increasing as the x-variable increases. Therefore, this shows a positive correlation.

Therefore, the solution is:

b) Since the y-values increase as the x-values increase, the scatter plot shows a positive association.
