If you have a and b multiplied by each other with different signs, simply square both a and b and put a negative sign in the middle, like this.


(a+b)(a-b)=a^2-b^2

Therefore;


((y)/(6)-8) ((y)/(6)+8) =((y)/(6)) ^2-(8)^2=(y^2)/(36)-64
