In this example, the minute hand is our radius, because it’s half the internal length of the circle.
The circumference of the circle is equal to pi x diameter.
Since diameter is twice the radius, we can do 5.25 x 2 = 10.5.
From there, we can substitute and solve.
pi x diameter
pi x (10.5)
If we’re representing pi as 3.14, the answer will come out to 32.97.
If we’re representing pi in its calculator function form, it’ll be roughly 32.986723.
So either of those could be your answer depending on how pi is represented.
