Manipulate the radius and height of the cylinder, setting different values for each. Record the radius, height, and exact volume of the cylinder (in terms of π). The first one is done for you. Also calculate the decimal value of the volume, and verify that it matches the volume displayed by the tool. (You might see some discrepancies in the tool due to rounding of decimals.)

Answer:

The volume for a cylinder is computed as follows:

V = π*r²*h

where r is the radius and h the height

In the following table some values for r and h are assumed and the volume is computed (I cannot compare the results with the tool because I don't know which tool are you talking about)

radius (ft) height (ft) volume (ft³)

1 1 V = π*1²*1 = π ≈ 3.141

2 1 V = π*2²*1 = 4π ≈ 12.566

1 2 V = π*1²*2 =2π ≈ 6.283

2 2 V = π*2²*2 = 8π ≈ 25.132

3 1 V = π*3²*1 = 9π ≈ 28.274

1 3 V = π*1²*3 = 3π ≈ 9.424

3 3 V = π*3²*3 = 27π ≈ 84.823
