I’m taking a walk and at each corner I will choose one of the 4 cardinal directions (N, S, E, W) to walk. If I choose at random three different times, how many possible outcomes are there?

I know the answer is 64, but I don't know how to get there.

Answer:

\displaystyle 64

Explanation:

\displaystyle 64 = 4^3

Set '3' as an exponent and '4' as the base since there are FOUR directions being chosen all at THREE different revolutions.

I am joyous to assist you anytime.
