2. You first divide the larger group by the smaller group to find the ratio

700 ÷ 40 = 17.5

Now you multiply the ammount of patients who responded with 8 when there were 40 asked, by the ammount you multiply 40 by to get to 700

16 × 17.5 = 280

The amount of people expected to respond with 8 hours when there is a sample size of 700 is 280 people.

3. All of these examples represent two sets of related data whose change is being compared over a set amount of time.
