Answer:

Therefore Candidate A , Candidate B and Candidate C received 47,250 votes, 94,500 votes and 22,250 votes respectively.

Explanation:

Assume that, A received x votes.

In a election candidate B received twice as many votes as candidate A.

So, B received = 2x votes

Candidate C received 25,000 fewer votes than candidate A.

So, C received= x-25,000 votes.

According to the problem,

x+2x+x-25,000= 164,000

⇒ 4x= 164,000+25,000

⇒4x=189,000

\Rightarrow x=(189,000)/(4)

\Rightarrow x=47,250

A received = 47,250 votes

B received = 2x votes

=(2×47,250)

=94,500

C received=x-25,000

=(47,250-25,000)

=22,250

Therefore Candidate A , Candidate B and Candidate C received 47,250 votes, 94,500 votes and 22,250 votes respectively.
