A point on a pre-image is currently located at (1, -3). The pre-image is translated 3

units right and 6 units up.
What are the NEW coordinates for the point after the translation? Use graph paper
to sketch the translation if needed.

Answer:

(4,3)

Explanation:

Since its a positive translation you add 3 to 1 because you are going to the right. You coordinates of that step then becomes (4,-3). Then you need to translate up 6 units. Because the y is -3 you add 3 to make 0, then 3 more (3+3=6) to get positive 3. You then end up with the coordinates (4,3)
