To find the slope(m), use the slope formula:


m=(y_2-y_1)/(x_2-x_1) And plug in two points on the line. I will use

(-2, 1) = (x₁, y₁)

(4, -6) = (x₂, y₂)


m=(y_2-y_1)/(x_2-x_1)


m=(4-(-2))/(-6-1) (two negative signs cancel each other out and become positive)


m=(4+2)/(-6-1)


m=(6)/(-7)
