10^3 x 10^9 = 10^12

Explanation:

Given that,

10^3 x 10^9

The bases of the 2 terms are same (10) and the power of the terms are 3 and 9

As the base of the 2 terms are same and the bases are in multiplication form we can add up the powers.

So,

10^3 x 10^9 = 10^(3+9)

= 10^12
