Answer:

Option A - Yes, because it is a right triangle.

Explanation:

Given : A triangular piece of fabric has side lengths of 1.2 feet, 2 feet, and 1.6 feet.

To find : Will it fit in the corner of a rectangular quilt? Explain.

Solution :

A Pythagorean Triple is made up of three values, a,b and c that follows the relationship
c^2=a^2+b^2

Here, a=1.2, b=1.6 and c=2

2^2=(1.2)^2+(1.6)^2\\\\4=1.44+2.56\\\\4=4

The Pythagorean triplet is satisfied so it is a right angle triangle.

Therefore, yes the corner of a rectangular quilt because it is a right triangle.
