Where does the energy in a food web come from or originate?.

Answer:

The energy in the food web ultimately originates from the sun. Energy travels from the sun to the earth in the form of electromagnetic radiation. Autotrophs (primary producers) are able to capture this energy and convert it into sugar molecules via photosynthesis. These sugar molecules provide the energy that travels up the food chain as consumers eat other organisms.
