Why have shock rock artists (such as Marilyn Manson and Rob Zombie) been considered satanic?

Marilyn Manson is technically a Satanist! He was a part of the Church of Satan (A reverend actually) and used that in his first albums. I don't think he a is part of them anymore, but he does still use those past connections in music.

As for Rob Zombie, even if he wasn't a Satanist I'm sure that spread around that anyone part of the Shock Rock genre was one bc Manson (though I could be wrong, and please correct me if I am)

Answer: its Seen for most people uncommon and weird to them. especially with all the red face paint and the morbid lyrics. There was even some bands that where satanic, so people just amuse that some bands are satanic.
