3(x+1)2=108

6(x+1)=108

6x+6=108

6x=108-6

6x=102 //6

x=17

First, multiply the 3 to the 2 in order to get 6(x+1)=108

Second, multiply the 6 to the x and the 1 in order to get 6x+6=108

Third, subtract 6 from 108 in order to get 102

Fourth, now that you have 6x=102, divide the 6 out of the 102 to get x=17

17 is your answer.

Hope this helps!
