It costs $55 to be a member of a music club. A member of the club pay's $25 per lesson. Non member's pay $30 per lesson. How many lessons would each have to take so the cost for each is the same

The number of lessons the member and the non member would have to take so the cost for each to be the same = 11 lessons.

Explanation:

Here we have an optimization problem, therefore

Let the number of lessons the members have to take be X and the number of lessons the non members have to take be Y

We have; when Y = X then

55 + 25×Y = 30×Y

55 = 5×Y

Y = 11

The number of lessons the member and the non member would have to take so the cost for each to be the same = 11 lessons.
