Answer:

C. and B.

Explanation:

Okay, so for the first problem it is multiplication, because you are taking two separate pieces of the problem, and you have to multiply them together to find the probability of a compound event.

For the second question, we know there are 7 letters in outcome, so there are seven possibilities, and because there are 2 O's in outcome, we have a 2/7 chance of drawing an O. But we're not done yet. :) So if we do not put the O back there are only 6 letters left, with one of them being M, so that would be 1/6, and because this is a compound event, you would multiply 2/7 and 1/6 to get 2/42, which can be simplified to 1/21.

Answer:

6. C multiply

7. B 1/21

Explanation:

6.To find the probability of a compound event, we multiply the probabilities

7.total tiles 7

P(o) = number of o's/total =2/7

We do not replace the tile, so there are 6 tiles

u,t,c,o,m,e

P(m)= number of m's/total =1/6

P(o, then m no replacement) = P(o)* P(m) = 2/7 * 1/6 = 1/21
