Since lines l and m are perperdicular then the angle between then measures 90 degrees, so we have:


x+23+x=90

By collecting similar terms the equation which represents a relation between these angles is:


2x+23=90

Now, by subtracting 23 to both sides, we obtain:


2x=90-23\\2x=67

and by dividing both sides by 2, we get


x=(67)/(2)


x=33.5\\

Then angle x measures 33.5 degrees.
