Remember that the slope intercept formula is:

y = mx + b

m is the slope

b is the y-intercept

We know that slope = 5 therefore m = 5

So far we have the equation: y =5x + b

Now we must find b

To do that you must plug in the point the line goes through in the x and y of the equation. Point (-2, -6) go through the equation:

-6 = 5(-2) + b

Now solve for b

-6 = -10 + b

-6 + 10 = -10 + 10 + b

4 = b

y = 5x + 4

Hope this helped!
